I submitted Milly’s documentary to Lift-Off Film Festival Online – May 2020 and I’m delighted it’s been selected to the next round of judging. Milly has decided to move towards a career in marketing, but I still want to continue down the documentary route. Milly gave me the green light to take our documentary to festivals - and this is the result!
Round 1: Global Social Crowd Round
The first round is open to the general public, who rent the entire collection of films for the full duration of the week. The film will be collecting "votes" that will come from Lift Off’s marketing efforts and our own. Everyone must vote for both their favourite and second favourite film (by writing in the comments section on the Vimeo page).
This is a great way for the festival to introduce new people to our work and independent film as a whole. Our film will be available for viewing on Vimeo On Demand as part of a series of films that make up the festival, and it will be live for the entire week for the cost of £8. Round 2: Internal Judges Round
The top 5 films from each page of the social round will be sent to Lift-Off's Internal Judges, who will make a more in-depth analysis based on multiple aspects. The film with the highest overall score wins. If we get selected for the online portfolio, we will receive an intermediate membership each, usually £89!
Winning short: The winning short will receive an official selection for a live screening at Pinewood Studios next year and a screening at Raleigh Studios, Hollywood during Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival - along with Professional Lift-Off Network Membership for the for the filmmakers and producers involved with the project. Membership entitles the production team to fee waivers across all of the Lift-Off festivals and showcases on FilmFreeway, along with production support applications ‘Lift-Off Production Support Package’ worth nearly $75,000, Career Road-Mapping Consultations and lots more...
